PROGRAM 
 
18 members, including 1 on Zoom, guests Cassie Nault of New Brighton and Laurel Deneen of Columbia Heights, and prospective members Kevin Kaliher of RAO Mfg. in Fridley and Will Rottler of the city of Columbia Heights heard former Fridley and Columbia Heights Rotarian Renee Van Gorp of Fridley Public Schools describe the mission and operation of the Fridley Schools Foundation, which has supplied grants and scholarships to students since 1999.
 
ANNOUNCEMENTS
 
The club has purchased a table for 8 at Fridley Schools Foundation’s gala on Thursday evening, January 25, at Jax Café in Minneapolis. Sign up to attend with Stephen Keeler at 763-502-5106.
 
By voice vote, the club approved membership for Kaliher and Rottler, who are enrolled as active members and will be inducted at their next meeting. Congrats to both!
 
REMINDERS
 
The first STRIVE field trip is set for St. Cloud tomorrow, January 18, leaving Fridley High School at 9 a.m.
 
A late-January date is being finalized for the STRIVE students visit to Anoka-Ramsey Community College and Anoka Technical College, and a visit to Minneapolis College (formerly Minneapolis Community and Technical College) is set for Wednesday, February 14.
 
Dues (etc.) invoices for the 2nd billing quarter (Oct. to Dec. 2023) were emailed yesterday by treasurer Greg Schraufnagel and are due by January 19. The invoices include charges if any at the Golf Classic Dinner in July and the Charter Dinner in November, and any past due balance from previous quarters.
 
The next Operation Pollination virtual meeting is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 6. Use Zoom reference https://colheights-k12-mn-us.zoom.us/j/86557933324.
 
The next club board meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 7, at Fridley Community Center. All members are welcome.
 
The 11th annual Golf Classic, the primary club findraiser, is set for Monday, July 15, at the Refuge Golf Course in Oak Grove.
