August 4, 2021
PROGRAM

20 members, including 4 on Zoom, and guest Brad Gudim of Fridley heard honorary member Joe Lapinski, Club President in 1978-79, speak about the life and times of United States founder Thomas Jefferson, including the 3rd president’s lastingly controversial relationships as a slaveholder, and the Great Coincidence: that both he and founder John Adams, the 2nd president, both died on the 50th anniversary of the Declaration. Of his many accomplishments, said Lapinski, Jefferson was most proud of his authorship of the Declaration and of founding the University of Virginia.
