22 members signed in this morning for the club's first online meeting, set up on the Zoom site by social media coordinator Stephen Keeler. The club has exceeded that attendance only once during the current year.
 
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
STRIVE coordinator Steve Klaers announced that 20 Columbia Heights High School 2020 seniors were been awarded scholarships at the school’s recent virtual awards ceremony.
 
Community service coordinator Mark Grotewold requests that members willing to volunteer at SACE to hand out food to SACA clients contact secretary Bob Tholkes, at rjtholkes@gmail.com. Shifts last from 11:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays through the end of June Two persons are needed per shift.
 
Golf Classic coordinator Greg Schraufnagel noted that 12 golfers had signed up to participate prior to the onset of the pandemic. Golfers and sponsors are still needed. Changing the beneficiary of the classic from STRIVE to a pandemic-related organization is under discussion.
 
President Brian Weierke announced that no meeting will be held next week due to Memorial Day, but a Zoom meeting will again be arranged for Wednesday morning, June 3, at 8 a.m., preceding the scheduled club board meeting.
 
The membership voted from the floor to purchase a Zoom account for the meetings.

2020-21 District Governor Ed Marek of the St. Paul Sunrise Club will be installed at a virtual event on Tuesday evening, June 30.
 
Greg Schraufnagel- Due to the challenges presented to us with the COVID-19 Pandemic, we have decided to reschedule our 2020 Rotary Golf Classic event.  The new date will be Monday, August 31, 2020.  Please reach out to those you know who have supported this event in the past and let them know about the new date.  I'll get revised email flyers out in the next few days.
