PROGRAM
 
Member Brad Gudim illustrated with magic his message describing marketing strategies he has used in creating opportunities in pursuit of his vocation as a magician. Brad’s skills are known to the club, and his presentation drew the highest meeting attendance in more than two months.
 
ANNOUNCEMENTS
 
Dictionaries for distribution to 3rd graders in our service areas have been received and are scheduled to be placed on Wednesday morning, September 28, at Highview, Valley View, and Immaculate Conception elementary schools in Columbia Heights, and in Stevenson and Hayes Elementary schools, as well as Woodcrest Baptist Academy, in Fridley on Wednesday morning, Oct. 12. Thanks to the several volunteers for each date who signed up today to participate.
 
President Kim Heil announced that following the recent survey on a club visioning process the club board will on Oct. 5 consider the next steps to be taken.
 
Kristen Stuenkel and Wally Wysopal announced that three 2021-22 STRIVE students at each high school have completed the requirements for receiving their awards: college registration.
 
Paul Nealy noted the car washing fundraiser to be held this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Philips, 6180 Hwy 65 in Fridley for the Fridley Middle School class trip to the east coast next spring.
 
Richard Garcia informed of the crisis hot lines for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (988) and text TALK to #741741. It’s schedule of fundraiser walks is available at supporting.afsp.org.

Mentors for the STRIVE program (to begin this year at Columbia Heights as well as Fridley) are sought.

District 5960 Rotarians are invited to attend its One Summit on Saturday, October 15 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 at the Family Means Center, 1875 Northwestern Avenue So. in Stillwater, and opportunity to share information about Membership, Public Image, DEI, and The Rotary Foundation. The annual Charter Dinner is scheduled for Wednesday, November 2, at Banquets of Minnesota in Fridley, and will feature Rotary District 5960 Governor Dayna Quigley and post-dinner entertainment.
