PROGRAM
 
19 members and guests Jim Cummings, STRIVE coordinator at Fridley High School (accompanied by two STRIVE students), Pam Powell of Mom’s Haven of Hope and Nikki Kalvin of Hope 4 Youth heard Peggy Strom of Roseville Rotary describe the history, fund structure, and operation of the Rotary Foundation, including the longtime Polio Plus campaign. The Foundation has the highest possible rating for the percentage of donations applied to charitable projects.
 
ANNOUNCEMENTS
 
No breakfast will be held on Wednesday, November 23, due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
 
Powell and Kalvin picked up their $500 donation checks from the club for their organizations, and expressed their appreciation.
 
Members MagicBrad Gudim, Steve Klaers, Mike Oakley, and Greg Schraufnagel attended the SYRIVE lunch at Fridley High School on Tuesday, Nov. 15. Klaers continues with talks with Columbia Heights STRIVE Coordinator Scott Roehm about beginning a mentoring program at the Heights.
 
REMINDERS
 
Lunches with the Fridley STRIVE students are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. at the high school on Nov. 30, and Dec. 13.  Additional mentors for the STRIVE students are sought. Contact Steve Klaers at 612-599-8103.

The club’s annual bellringing during the holiday season will again take place at Sam’s Club, 8150 University Avenue NE in Fridley, from 3-7 p.m. on the three Wednesdays in December before Christmas, December 7, 14, and 21. A sign-up sheet for 2 hour time blocks will be circulated. Contact Gordon Backlund at 612-296-0375 to participate.
 
Save The Date: the annual district 5960 conference is scheduled for April 29, 2023, a joint conference with District 5950 at Madden’s Golf Resort on Gull Lake in Brainerd.
