17 members enjoyed a loosely-paced "731" meeting with extended socializing time and club business reports.
 
Secretary Bob Tholkes reported that the club board approved as donation of $500 to the New Brighton-Moundsview Club's ECHO project, the subject of a presentation last month.
 
STRIVE chair Steve Klaers described planned activities for the scholarship program this year, including the launch of a mentorship program at Fridley High School.
 
Tim Blank distributed a handout describing the Dictionary Project, scheduled for September 25 at Fridley schools and October 2 at Columbia Heights schools.
 
In the absence of coordinator Greg Schraufnagel, President Brian Weierke narrated  Power Point slides about the 2019 Golf Classic, including the financial statement showing a net of $25,000, a new high for the event. The total of 86 golfers was also a new high. Schraufnagel was chosen unanimously as coordinator for the event in 2020.
 
President Weierke also reminded the group that next week's speaker is District Governor Paul Perez, and urged all members to attend.
