19 members, including 6 Zoomers and Zooming guests/prospective members Halimo Ismail and Ed Higgins, heard Gordy Backlund, emergency substitute for listed speakers Bill and Charlie Bristow, offer updated COVID-19 information. Backlund also called the group’s attention to the videos on Rotary topics offered every other Friday by District 5960. All members receive email notification dir4ctly from the District.

 

ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

Members Don Archibeque, Tim Blank, Mark Grotewold, Amada Simula, and Bob Tholkes delivered groceries last Saturday for SACA. Thanks! Grotewold noted that the exercise could be repeated on a monthly basis.

 

Scott Lund noted that 40 attendees (or more) are needed for the November 4 Charter Dinner at Banquets of Minnesota in Fridley. Cost is $45; signup will begin in September.

Steve Klaers read an especially gracious thank-you note from a Columbia Heights STRIVE scholarship recipient.

 

Greg Schraufnagel noted that 56 golfers are now signed up for the Golf Classic on August 31. The event is now expected to raise upwards of $10,000.00.
