18 members and visiting Rotarian (but Twin Cities native) David Lantos of Jacksonville, North Carolina, heard Deb Dahl of Fridley Parks and Recreation describe the city's 38 parks (plus five county parks), plans for park improvements, and opportunities for community engagement.
 
David described the services of his employer, the non-profit Meridian Foundation, which provides payment processing services, and distributed a brochure.
 
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
 
Scott Lund is recovering from successful (but 5-hour) surgery yesterday for colon cancer. The club will send a floral get-well arrangement.
 
Member Lacey Anderson of Talecris Plasma Resources has transferred to another location and so has terminated her membership. The club has sent its best wishes for the future.
 
Past District Governor Mike Becker is seeking nominations for District Governor in 2022-23. Nominations are due by September 27. Contact club president Brian Weierke if you wish to nominate a member.
 
Fridley Parks and Recreation will hold a New Resident Mixer on Saturday, October 12. The club is invited to staff an informational table.

August 30 is Rotary Blitz day at the Minnesota State Fair. All three Minnesota districts are participating. Wear your Rotary gear and meet Rotarians from all over the state!
 
The club Charter Dinner is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 6. Details TBA. No meeting on that date.
