16 members on Zoom heard District 5960 The Rotary Foundation Coach Peggy Strom of Arden Hills/Shoreview Rotary speak about her involvement with TRF and provide a custom 2020 TRF video, “The Rotary Foundation and Positive Peace: Needed Now More Than Ever.” Rotary creates peace positively, the video states, by fulfilling needs all over the world, and TRF through its grant program is the vehicle for that fulfillment, donating five billion dollars since its beginning in 1917. The video describes TRF’s fund alternatives and areas of focus, which will grow from six to seven in 2021 with the addition of a Climate and Environmental area. District 5960 club projects in each area are highlighted, and Strom noted the projects in 2019-2020 to which FCH Rotary had contributed. The video is being forwarded to members via email.

In the question and answer period after the video, FCH TRF coordinator Norma Jean Falink noted the ways in which members can contribute, and means of involvement beyond contributions were discussed. Bob Olsen supplied a link to the district’s page detailing present grant activity: https://www.rotary5960.org/page/grant-activity.
