11 members heard Columbia Heights-Fridley Adult Basic Education director Kathleen Moriarty thank the club for its district grant contribution to the center, which allowed the hiring of an additional teacher for in-person instruction in English as a Second Language (ESL). Moriarty provided information about the new class, and described the center’s mission and programs.

Steve Klaers, Paul Nealy, and Bob Tholkes attended the District 5960 midterm event last Saturday.
Klaers noted that a mentor meeting will not take place this week at Fridley.
Kristen Stuenkel reported that she and Amáda Márquez Simula presented information about the club’s Operation Pollination program at a recent Rotary International virtual conference which drew 54 Rotarians from all over the Rotary world.

Rotary International announced that the May 27-28, 2028 (changed from 2029) RI convention will be held in Minneapolis. It will be organized cooperatively by Districts 5580, 5950, 5960, and 6250.
