14 members and three guests heard author Dennis Kelly share with the Club the story and mission of Write to Hope. Write to Hope is a non-profit that conducts mindful writing workshops within six Minnesota counties. Studies have shown that therapeutic writing can provide benefits such as stress relief, clarity of thought, and freedom to move forward unencumbered by past experiences. Along with the writing workshops, Write to Hope connects detainees resources following their release.

At the club board meeting yesterday:
Treasurer Rottler reported net revenue of $21,000 from the July 30 Golf Classic.
A budget of $14,000 was provided for 2026-27 STRIVE program scholarship pledges.
A contribution of $500 was approved for White Bear Lake Rotary’s Global Grant project.
$1700.00 was approved for the 2026-27 Literacy program.

Rotary International announced that the
May 27-28, 2028 RI convention will be held in Minneapolis. It will be organized cooperatively by Districts 5580, 5950, 5960, and 6250. If you already know that you will want to volunteer at the Rotary International Convention in Minneapolis in 2028, send your name, email and club name to
ri2028volunteer@gmail.com. At a minimum, the people-watching should be amazing! Convention registration not required. The convention has an immediate goal of 1000 Rotarians registered as interested in volunteering.
