18 members and virtual guest Mandy Meissner, Anoka County Commissioner, attended the Zoom meeting this morning. The club board, which was scheduled to meet immediately after, gathered at the Fridley Civic Campus Emergency Operations Center for the meeting. John Niewald offered the invocation and Vern Hoium a Thought For The Day.
 
VIRTUAL HAPPY FINES
Craig Malm: We were able to experience my grandson Caden’s 3rd birthday party via zoom and observe a drive-by with sirens by the Monona Fire Department. Hope you had a great Memorial Day weekend!
 
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Treasurer Wally Wysopal reported that the club account has $19,348.21 over and above the $10,000 operating reserve.
 
The next Zoommeeting will take place on June 10 at 8 a.m. Scheduled speaker Bob Patterson, professor emeritus at the University of Minnesota Medical School, will talk about the coronavirus and COVID-19.
 
The induction of 2020-21 club president Kelli Bourgeois will take place at the Zoommeeting of June 24, the last of the current Rotary year. As it did this morning, the board will gather for the occasion.

Community service coordinator Mark Grotewold requests that members willing to volunteer at SACA to hand out food to SACA clients contact secretary Bob Tholkes, at rjtholkes@gmail.com. Shifts last from 11:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays through the end of June Two persons are needed per shift.
 
Changing the beneficiary of the classic from STRIVE to a pandemic-related organization is under discussion.

2020-21 District Governor Ed Marek of the St. Paul Sunrise Club will be installed at a virtual event on Tuesday evening, June 30.
 
Greg Schraufnagel- Due to the challenges presented to us with the COVID-19 Pandemic, we have decided to reschedule our 2020 Rotary Golf Classic event.  The new date will be Monday, August 31, 2020.  Please reach out to those you know who have supported this event in the past and let them know about the new date.  The event website, fchgolfclassic.com, is up
