No meeting…but a well-attended Golf Classic fundraiser on Monday, July 19! Chief organizer Greg Schraufnagel is still tabulating the financial results. The weather cooperated…not beastly humid, with an occasional breeze and the sun disappearing at times behind clouds and a light haze. Thanks to non-golfer volunteers Kelli Bourgeois, Ed Higgins, Amada Marquez Simula, and Bob Tholkes for handling registration and course duties, to Bob Olsen for set-up assistance, and of course to Greg. The surf & turf dinner was generous and well-prepared, and Dave Rudolph of SACA was on hand to speak; SACA and the Healthy Youth Foundation will benefit. More details of the day to come.
There is no meeting today, July 21, because of the Golf Classic.
Members may sign up to deliver groceries for SACA on any Saturday in July at If you will be driving, provide your insurance card and driver’s license for SACA to copy for its records.
The meeting of July 14 inaugurated production of our hybrid meetings by a corps of volunteer members: Ed Higgins, Frost Simula, Amada Simula, Kristen Stuenkel,  Bourgeois, Tholkes, and Gordy Backlund. Thanks to our new group of “producers”, who will rotate the responsibility.
The annual charter dinner takes place on Wednesday evening, August 25 at Banquets of Minnesota in Fridley. Cost is $32 per person for the meal and facility rental. For $17, attendees can purchase a bottle of wine from member Roy Goslin. Contact Scott at or phone 612-860-3235 to register.
Service project coordinator Mark Grotewold reminded that with the loosening of COVID restrictions other service projects can be planned. Please contact him with your ideas.
Club business cards with the club logo and contact information will be available at the meetings, and by request through the club email, Carry them around to give to prospective members!
Program on July 28: New member Erik Johnston will give his classification talk.
