A 2018-19 high 25 members, regular visiting rotarian Mark Erjavec, and seasonal guest Dick Harris heard member Amada Marquez Simula summarize the 2018-19 activities of the HeightsNEXT Community Foundation of Columbia Heights, which she heads. She described HeightsNEXT as extremely active in organizing community events in the past year, and thanked the club for its financial support.
 
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
 
Bob Olsen announced that sufficient volunteers are signed up to staff the Fridley 49er Days Fun Run tomorrow, and passed around a sign-up sheet for additional volunteers to staff the Wine Tent on Friday evening from 4:00 10:00 p.m.
 
Member Gordy Backlund, who heads up the 49er Days event, which the club helps to sponsor, described its activities and distributed 49er Days buttons. 
 
President Josh Lund described a possible service activity in cooperation with the Minnesota Twins Baseball Club in July; further information to be provided.
 
Kristen Stuenkel (Columbia Heights H. S.) and John Niewald (Fridley H. S.) thanked the club for its scholarship pledges, which totaled a combined $20,000.00, to the schools' classes of 2019 under the STRIVE program.

Craig Malm will coordinate a joint Human Trafficking awareness Community Forum with Blaine-Ham Lake Rotary, to be held from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 26 at the Blaine Fire Department, 11920 Ulysses St NE in Blaine. A panel of speakers will be featured.
 
The Club’s annual fundraiser, the Golf Classic, is scheduled for Monday, July 22, at
The Refuge in Oak Grove. Foursomes, sponsors, and auction items are sought. Contact
