21 members and regular visiting Rotarian Mark Erjavec (Kiev International Rotary, Ukraine) heard Alan Anderson of Northfield Rotary's Climate Action Team review the causes and current impact of climate change. Climate change now or will in future affect all of Rotary's six mission areas. Clubs are urged to form Climate Action Teams.
Our winter service project: Bellringing at Sam’s Club, 8150 University Ave., Fridley, on Wednesdays in December, all days 4 to 8 p.m., today and on Dec. 11, and Dec. 18. Sign-up sheets for two-hour shifts will be passed at breakfasts, or email Bob Tholkes at
Steve Klaers announced that the next meeting of mentors and Fridley STRIVE students will take place today at 11:30 at the high school.
Klaers also announced that STRIVE students will help Kids In Need take inventory at its Roseville distribution center, 2719 Patton Rd, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 14. Rotarians are invited to show up and assist.
Amada Simula announced that HeightsNEXT community organization, which the club supports, will hold its annual Pet-Bed making day on Saturday, Dec. 14 at the Columbia Heights Public Library, 3939 Central Avenue, from noon to 3 p.m.

The District 5960 Midterm and Social, a free event, will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 11 at Anderson Center, Hamline University, 774 Snelling Ave. N, St. Paul.
The District 5960 2020 Conference of Clubs will take place April 30-May 1 at the Mystic Lake Event Center, Prior Lake.
