17 members heard visiting Rotarians Kerrie Holschbach of Forest Lake Rotary and Honorina Honorati of Karatu, Tanzania, Rotary speak in support of the Forest Lake club's current district grant project, construction and development of a Farm and Innovation Center in Karatu. They presented a video and spoke of the benefits to be realized. The club board will consider their funding request at its meeting on October 2.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
President Brian Weierke announced that next week's meeting will give its program segment to a "731" social time, as an alternative to the "501" socials attempted the previous two years.
Weierke also urged attendance at the September 11 visit of District Governor Paul Perez of Prior Lake Rotary.
Gordon Backlund announced that the Fridley Lions' social event of September 10 will feature an opportunity to trap shoot. He will make tickets available.
Tim Blank announced that he will schedule the 2019 Dictionary Distribution Project for September 25 in Fridley and October 2 in Columbia Heights. Volunteers will be needed.
REMINDERS:
The club's annual Charter Dinner will take place on November 6. No meeting that day. Details TBA.
