24 (!) members, including 2 on Zoom, and guest Jim Cummings, STRIVE program coordinator at Fridley High School, heard new member Paul Nealy make his classification talk. A small-town Minnesota boy (Adrian), Paul described his “growing up”, his time at the U of M, his marriage, family, wide-ranging interests, and his work at Biotechne in Minneapolis, a large medical-research and product development corporation.
Tim Blank reviewed today’s schedule for distributing Dictionaries at Highview, Valley View, and Immaculate Conception elementary schools in Columbia Heights. Dictionaries will be distributed at Stevenson and Hayes Elementary schools, as well as Woodcrest Baptist Academy, in Fridley on Wednesday morning, Oct. 12. Thanks to the several volunteers for each date who signed up today to participate.
Cummings announced that the STRIVE program will begin at Fridley this week, with 40 FHS seniors invited to participate.
Scott Lund supplied details for the Nov. 2 Charter Dinner: doors open at 55:30, dinner at 7 with after-dinner musical entertainment; cost, $40.00. Sign-up sheet was passed around and will be passed again...or contact Scott at to sign up.

The annual Charter Dinner is scheduled for Wednesday, November 2, at Banquets of Minnesota in Fridley, and will feature Rotary District 5960 Governor Dayna Quigley and after-dinner entertainment.
