PROGRAM: 
 
11 members, including one on Zoom, reviewed plans for the July 15 Golf Classic at a club business session led by president Stephen Keeler. An increased emphasis will be placed on member ‘asks’ of local businesses. Members Stephen Keeler, Steve Klaers, Greg Schraufnagel, and Mike Oakley of the planning committee spoke.  
 
ANNOUNCEMENTS
 
Members Stephen Keeler, Kristen Stuenkel, and Bob Tholkes are leading an initiative to apply for a district Rotary grant to provide resources for the influx this year of English language learners in the service area. A proposal will be presented at the next club board meeting.
 
REMINDERS
 
The next Operation Pollination virtual meeting is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2. Use Zoom reference https://colheights-k12-mn-us.zoom.us/j/86557933324.
 
STRIVE students will visit Anoka Tech on Wednesday, April 3 at 10 AM. and Hennepin Tech on Tuesday, May 7 @ 10 am, followed by lunch and a 1 hr visit to the adjacent Law Enforcement Academy.
 
The next club board meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m., Wednesday, April 10, at Fridley Community Center. All members are welcome.
 
The District 5960 2023-24 Celebration of Clubs gathering is scheduled for Saturday, May 4, in Hudson, WI. Register at https://www.rotary5960.org/celebration-of-clubs-2024/.
 
The 11th annual Golf Classic, the primary club fundraiser, is set for Monday, July 15, at the Refuge Golf Course in Oak Grove.
 
Rotary International announced that the 2029 RI convention will be held in Minneapolis. It will be organized cooperatively by Districts 5580/5950,5960, and 6250.

UPCOMING PROGRAMS: April 3- Bondo Nyembwe of Columbia Heights Public Schools will describe the school district’s response to its influx this year of migrant students. April 10- New member Will Rottler will present his classification talk. April 17- Handlers from Sustainable Safaris will bring animals from its facility and describe its program.
