CLUB ANNOUNCEMENTS
9 members have indicated availability for the pumpkin carving service activity the week of October 12-15 at Springbrook Nature Center to help it prepare for its Pumpkin Night at the Park on Saturday, October 17. Members were chiefly available on Tuesday and Wednesday. Will Rottler will coordinate selection of the ½ hour time slot for Wednesday attendees, and Bob Tholkes for Tuesday.
Social Committee Scott Lund proposes a social/service activity in November: participation in Fridley Arts Council’s current project. Volunteers are wanted to help design clay tiles. Further details TBA.
Fall Literacy Program: Fridley will use its Rotary donation to purchase multiple copies of the Webster Elementary Dictionary for its 3rd grade sections.
STRIVE: Steve Klaers announced that two students from the non-public Avail Academy in Fridley have been enrolled. Mentoring of students this year will take place outside school hours.

Rotary International announced that the
May 27-28, 2028 RI convention will be held in Minneapolis. It will be organized cooperatively by Districts 5580, 5950, 5960, and 6250. If you already know that you will want to volunteer at the Rotary International Convention in Minneapolis in 2028, send your name, email and club name to
ri2028volunteer@gmail.com. At a minimum, the people-watching should be amazing! Convention registration not required. The convention has exceeded its immediate goal of 1000 Rotarians registered as interested in volunteering; that goal has morphed to 1600 volunteers.
