PROGRAM
24 (!) members, including 7 on Zoom, heard Corey Benson of Curbside Productions review the history of online video technology and its explosion in popularity during the pandemic, and its continuing use for meetings in hybrid form. He advised on the decisions to be made by groups—choosing a provider, selecting equipment, and the elements of hybrid meeting leadership.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
There is no meeting on Wednesday, July 21, because of the Golf Classic.
Golf Classic coordinator Greg Schraufnagel announced that all items (sponsors, golfers, diners, silent auction items) are still sought for the July 19 Golf Classic. The Refuge golf course in Oak Grove has been reserved. The event’s site is at
Event home page - 2021 Fridley/Columbia Heights Rotary Golf Classic (fchgolfclassic.com). Classic info also now appears on the home page of the club website, fridleychrotary.org. The Director of SACA, Dave Rudolph, will be attending our golf banquet and will give a short talk. Presently, Greg expects that about 80 golfers will attend. Volunteers to help at the tournament should arrive at about 10:00 a.m.
Secretary Bob Tholkes noted that today’s meeting inaugurates the beginning of production of our hybrid meetings by a corps of volunteer members: Ed Higgins, who will coordinate the group; Frost Simula, Amada Simula, Kristen Stuenkel, Kelli Bourgeois, Tholkes, and Gordy Backlund. Thanks to our new group of “producers”, who will rotate the responsibility.
