PROGRAM  
 
19 members heard member Ryan George deliver his classification talk. He described his work as City of Fridley Public Safety Director, showed photos of his family, detailed his youthful activities and his education, and recounted his career in law enforcement, which has been entirely in Fridley.
 
ANNOUNCEMENTS
 
No breakfast will be held next Wednesday, November 15.
 
Road Trip! The breakfast meeting of December 6 will shift to the new Columbia Heights City Hall, 3989 Central Avenue, when it features a presentation on the recent Sister Cities trip to Poland by member (and Columbia Heights Mayor) Amáda Márquez Simula and Veronica Johnson. Park free in the City Hall underground garage (entrance on 40th Avenue).
 
Tim Blank reminded of the Dictionary Project distribution, which took place this morning in Fridley after the meeting and will occur on November 15 in Columbia Heights.
 
Steve Klaers reminded that the bimonthly STRIVE program mentor/student meetings at Fridley take place this year at 9 a.m.; the next is on Monday, November 13.
 
Stephen Keeler and Kristen Stuenkel met with Columbia Heights High School officials last week to arrange the continuation of the STRIVE program at CHHS.
 
REMINDERS
 
The annual Charter Dinner social event on Wednesday, November 15 at Banquets of Minnesota in Fridley will again feature the Rotary District Governor. The DG for 2023-24 is Patricia McCleese of Rochester. Social hour begins ate 5:30, with dinner at 7:00.
 
Gordon Backlund distributed the sign up sheet for  bellringing for the Salvation Army, on Wednesday, November 29, Wednesday December 6, and Wednesday, December 13 at  4-7 p.m. at Sam's Club, 8150 University Avenue, Fridley. Sign up for 90-minute shifts with Gordon at 612-296-0375.
 
One STRIVE program field trip is set: The St. Cloud Field trip is scheduled for Thursday, January 11. The Operation Pollination program for 2023 has been concluded, and will resume meeting in January 2024. Additional mentors for Fridley STRIVE students are sought.
