PROGRAM
 
16 members, including 2 on Zoom, visiting Rotarian Sandy Campbell of Anoka Rotary Club, and prospective member Wayne Howell of Fridley heard member Erik Johnston, Columbia Heights Police Department captain, speak on Peace Officer training in Minnesota. Johnston, a training instructor, reviewed eligibility requirements, state rules for Peace Officers, training objectives, and the Columbia Heights Peace Officer manual.
 
ANNOUNCEMENTS
 
Two breakfasts in July will not be held: July 6, because of the July 4 holiday week, and July 20, because of the July 18 Golf Classic.
 
25 runners competed in the revival of the Rotary Fun Run at Fridley 49er Days last Thursday.
 
The club board holds it's first meeting for 2022-23 on Wednesday, August 3, at 9:00 a.m. at Fridley Community Center, 6085 7 St NE.
 
Member Tim Blank previewed the 2022 Dictionary Project, usually completed in the fall.
 
Golf Classic coordinator Greg Schraufnagel noted that volunteer signups for the July 18 fundraiser would be sought shortly.

There is no breakfast meeting at Shortstop Bar & Grill next Wednesday, June 29. The second lunch meeting at the Refuge Golf Club, 21250 Yellow Pine St NW, Oak Grove, MN, the site of the July Golf Classic fundraiser, will take place instead. Complementary lunches and golf will be provided for invited prospective members and their sponsors. Members are requested to help identify prospective members to invite, particularly owners of local businesses. President Don Archibeque circulated an email list on May 6. Members who choose to golf after the meeting can do so at a discounted rate of $45.00. The meeting will begin at 11:30. The meeting will be hybrid. Lunch meetings at The Refuge are also scheduled for July 27 and August 24.

Everything—golfers, sponsors, auction items, diners- is still needed for the July 18 Golf Classic to bring it up to previous standards.  See the Golf Classic website at www.fchgolfclassic.com. The online auction site https://www.32auctions.com/FCHRotaryAuction2022 is up; bidding will be online only, beginning one week before the event. Some photos have been posted.
 
The Columbia Heights Monarch Festival takes place on Wednesday, August 17. The club will have an informational table and will receive sponsor recognition.
