20 members, former member Dick Harris, visiting Rotarian Mark Stange of Arden Hill-Shoreview, and guest Keith Werness of Church Offset Printing of Fridley heard 2018 (and 2019) Golf Classic Committee chair Greg Schraufnagel sum up July's 2018 Golf Classic. which raised over $21,000 for the club's projects and activities, a 12% increase over 2017. for 2019, Greg hopes to attract more golfers to the event and better promote the silent-auction items. The Classic may move to a Monday from its usual Thursday slot, and to another location.
 
The revived club Golf Championship, set for August 30, presently numbers 7 golfers. More are needed.
 
President Josh Lund reminded of the September 21 Rotary Gala and handed out the invitation forms.
 
Craig Malm reminded of the October 6 Bikes for Kids bike collection at Allina Hospitals.
 
Patty Halvorson announced that Lee Carlson Centers will hold its Lantern Gala on November 8 at Bunker Hills Golf Club. More info next week.
 
Wally Wysopal announced that the new Fridley municipal complex will open in November. The club will get a tour of the sumptuous new facility.
