Feb. 24/March 3, 2021

No meeting was scheduled for February 24.

On March 3, 18 members, including 12 on Zoom, heard Rotarian Chris Stein of the National Park Service speak on Operation Pollination (OP), a nationwide program promoted by federal agencies and the nonprofit National Heritage Areas to establish a framework for grassroots efforts to provide habitat for the pollinators (butterflies, bees, wasp, beetles, moth, flies) which are needed to provide a significant percentage of the world’s foods, and which have declined by 45% in the last 50 years. Rotary’s Environmental Sustainability Action Group (ESRAG) has adopted OP and encourages Rotary districts and clubs to undertake pollinator projects.
