45 members and guests enjoyed a memorable Charter Dinner on Wednesday evening, April 25, at Murzyn Hall in Columbia Heights. The dinner honored 2017-18 Youth Exchange hosts Bob and Mary Tholkes, Ben and Christine Haubach, Greg and Lurlien Mueller, and Amada and Frost Simula for their welcome to this year's exchange student, Pascal Boehner of Germany. All were in attendance. The club also welcomed Columbia Heights High School STRIVE coordinator Scott Roehm and his spouse. Roy Goslin and his wife Dianne Ferrandi provided South African wine courses for the meal, explaining the features of each selection, and Banquets of Minnesota in Fridley catered. President-elect Nominee Brian Weierke and President Wally Wysopal led a brief program. Wysopal provided a collection of photos from the club's 2017-18 activities, which were projected on a continuous-loop file. He also announced that the date marked the 47th anniversary (+ one day) of of the wedding in Murzyn Hall of member Mark Grotewold and wife Liz.
