PROGRAM
 
16 members, including 2 on Zoom, and visiting Rotarian Joe McKenzie of Coon Rapids Rotary heard new Anoka County Regional Economic Development director Greg Frahm-Gilles introduce himself and his new function, covering a range of topics, from supporting and coordinating local planning by the county’s 21 cities to the elements of and current issues in its economic present and future and his department’s services to business. He pointed out the county’s diverse mixture of older, fully-developed communities and exurban, semi-rural areas. 
 
ANNOUNCEMENTS
 
Fine can: The club will send a check for $328.45 to the Rotary Foundation’s Polio Plus campaign. Thanks to all our Fine members!
 
Steve Klaers announced that the next Fridley High School STRIVE mentors meeting will take place on Tuesday Jan. 10 at 11:30. Contact Klaers at 612-599-8103 if planning to attend. Additional mentors for Fridley STRIVE students are sought, and potential mentors next year at Columbia Heights High School are encouraged to attend.
 
Social Committee Scott Lund is planning a limited-capacity mystery event for April or May.

Breakfast will not be held on Wednesday, December 28, due to the holidays.
 
The final bellringing opportunity for the Salvation Army takes place today from 3-7 p.m. at Sam’s Club, 8150 University Avenue NE in Fridley. Contact Gordon Backlund at 612-296-0375 to participate.
