President Josh Lunds presents Fridley Public Schools Superintendent Kim Hiel with a check for $1000 for the iBelong program at Fridley High School.
 
20 members, former member Dick Harris, and prospective member Steve Drost attended the breakfast of November 7.
 
A club session, several announcements were made:
 
Steve Klaers updated the club on the 2018-19 STRIVE program, which has now been launched at both Fridley and Columbia Heights High Schools. The first field trip, to Anoka Technical College on November 29, has been scheduled. Volunteers to accompany the trip, which will acquaint the students with the school, are sought.
 
The club farewelled for the season former member Dick Harris, who has dropped in for breakfast since July, provided Thoughts for the Day, and participated in the Golf Classic. Thank you Dick! 
 
Wally Wysopal reported that the students who attended Rotary Camp Enterprise last weekend with club sponsorship will make a presentation at a future breakfast.
 
Brian Weierke reminded that Fridley Police is collecting winter clothing for kids until early December.
 
The Lee Carlson Center Lantern Gala will be held tomorrow night at Bunker Hills Golf Club.
 
More attendees are needed for the Rotary Foundation Celebration on Saturday evening, Nov. 10, in Oakdale. The club has funded a table of 8.
 
Donations are sought for the Metro North Adult Basic Ed winter clothing distribution program in our service area. They will be accepted all through the winter. They can be brought to breakfast and given to Kristen Stuenkel or Toni Craft.
 
Scott Lund reminded that the new City of Fridley municipal complex will open on Nov. 13, with an open house scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 17.
 
Scott also announced that Fridley Liquor will present a program by mixologist Dr. Don on Nov. 15 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
 
 The club's quarterly service project will be held on Thursday, Dec. 4: food sorting at Southern Anoka Community Assistance in Columbia Heights from 3:30 to 5:30. Please sign up on the sheet provided. A holiday gathering will follow at the nearby Sarna's Grill.
 
Wysopal passed around a signup sheet for the bellringing services for the Salvation Army on Dec. 5, 12, and 19 at Sam's Club in Fridley.
 
Steve Klaers announced that STRIVE students will again assist in the Kids in Need warehouse inventory on Dec. 15. Members are invited to participate.
